Public open house and tours, 3:00 - 5:00 PM

The City is planning an Open House for the park on June 12. This will include the dedication of the lighthouse at 3:00 p.m.  The lighthouse is the Bicentennial Legacy Gift to the community from The Troy Foundation. The dedication will be followed by tour of the park area. Activities will include musical entertainment provided by Troy’s own Rum River Blend, and sailing of classic sail canoes along the Great Miami River by the Dayton Canoe Club.

The First Annual Great Miami 12 mile River Race beginning at 12:00 PM and Fun Float beginning at 2:00 PM
Starting at the beautiful Treasure Island Park in Troy, Ohio and ending with an after party at Adventures on the Great Miami, this unique 12 mile river race is open to all skill levels with awards for best time overall, best team (canoe), best individual (kayak or S.U.P. Board), and spirit fun float.   An evening of food, music and fun.

THE 80’s RULE! You will sing along with every song and could end up on stage singing with Stranger at some point in the show! Stranger is a Dayton, Ohio band that was formed in 1996.

Kid’s Big Truck Day,  1:00-3:00 PM
Kids of all ages will enjoy this opportunity for an “up close” look at big Army trucks, concrete mixers, and  more.  Take photos posing beside these vehicles.  Sorry – no one will be permitted to climb on or be in the cabs of the vehicles.

July 23
The 2016 River Rock Beach Party, 3:00 PM
Families are welcome to join us in beautiful Treasure Island Park for the beach party along the Great Miami River, starting at 3:00 PM for all ages.   There will be activities for those aged three through 10 (parents dress them so they can get wet) and the "Big Kahuna" Challenge for 16 year olds and older, with a paddle board given as the grand prize (entries will be limited). Food trucks will be available from 3:00 until 9:00 PM. Rental of canoes and kayaks will be available throughout the day. The grand finale is the River Rock Concert, Parrots of the Caribbean, starting at 7:30 PM.  There will be dueling “war boat” competitions as directed by the Dayton Canoe Club.
This will be a fun-filled afternoon and evening for the entire family.

We are excited to announce that the “Be the Match 5K Run/Walk” will be held at Treasure Island on September 17.  This event attracts 700 to 1000 participants that are there in support of blood based cancers.  
An opportunity to participate in a wellness run or walk and support an excellent cause.

Along with the Community Improvement Corporation of Troy, Ohio, we are pleased to announce the following concession operations that will be located in the Marina Building at Treasure Island Park:
Restaurant: Smith's Boathouse Restaurant
Ron Smith is the Executive Chef of Smith's Boathouse Restaurant. Mr. Smith is a nationally known chef who's family owned a highly acclaimed restaurant on the island of Maui, Hawaii for decades. We are fortunate that Mr. Smith has come home to Troy so we can enjoy his amazing cuisine.

Canoe/Kayak/etc.
The non-motorized canoe/kayak/shallow motorcraft rental concession operator will be Chris Jackson, dba Adventures on the Great Miami Adventures. He now has a business operation on Ross Road, outside of Tipp City. Mr. Jackson has a great deal of experience in operating this type of concession and providing the rental opportunity for residents and visitors.
