2008 Troy Strawberry Festival Grand Marshal
Mr. William Lohrer

Every year the Troy Strawberry Festival honors an individual or organization that has demonstrated outstanding community service or special achievements. Because of his dedication and service to the community of Troy, the Troy Strawberry Festival is proud to honor William “Bill” Lohrer as the Grand Marshal of the 2008 Parade.

During his service to our community as a Troy City Councilperson and President of the Council, Bill Lohrer participated in nearly all the Troy Strawberry Festival Parades. Bill has actively promoted and attended Festival events and activities. On Festival weekend he could be found preparing strawberry pie at the Kiwanis Booth and serving chicken and rib dinners at the Troy Chamber of Commerce Tent. The funds received on the weekend serve to further assist these clubs and organizations with year long functions and projects. Bill Lohrer was that volunteer whose service carried on beyond the Strawberry Festival weekend.

Bill Lohrer’s involvement in the Troy community encompasses church, city, government, education, youth sports, and civic organizations. His contributions include:

* First Cookson Elementary School PTO president
