MINUTES OF COUNCIL
A regular session of Troy City Council was held Monday, July 17, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Members Present: Baker, Bretland, Douglas, Howe, Mercer and Saxton.
Upon motion of Mr. Howe, seconded by Mr. Douglas, Mr. Beamish was excused from this meeting by unanimous roll call vote.
Presiding Officer: William F. Lohrer, President of Council Pro Tem
Others Present: Peter E. Jenkins, Mayor
N. Lawrence Wolke, Director of Public Service & Safety
W. McGregor Dixon, Jr., Director of Law
R. Craig Helmer, Auditor
The Clerk gave a summary of the July 3, 2000, minutes of Council. There were no additions or corrections to these minutes. Upon motion of Mr. Douglas, seconded by Mrs. Baker, these minutes were approved by unanimous roll call vote.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
LAW & ORDINANCE: Mr. Douglas, Chairman, reported that Committee recommends legislation be prepared authorizing the replat of IL 7163 (Berchtold property on W. Market Street) and the dedication of right-of-way on W. Market St.

ORDINANCE NO. O-22-2000
AN AMENDED ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE CITY'S NATURAL GAS FRANCHISE FROM DAYTON POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY TO VECTREN ENERGY DELIVERY OF OHIO, INC.
This Ordinance was given first title reading on July 17, 2000.
This Ordinance was given second title reading.
Mr. Mercer moved for suspension of rules requiring three readings. Motion seconded by Mr. Douglas.

COMMENTS OF THE MAYOR: The Mayor commented that representatives of the University of Phoenix were in town today to look at potential temporary locations.
COMMENTS OF SERVICE & SAFETY DIRECTOR: Mr. Wolke congratulated the Mayor for his work in bringing the University of Phoenix to Troy.
COMMENTS OF COUNCIL:
-Mr. Howe complimented the efforts for July 4, and suggested there be more trash containers, especially on the East side of the bridge.
STAFF COMMENTS:
-Mark Livengood, Utilities Supervisor, presented the plaque the City received from EPA for having an outstanding Water system.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
