| July 6, 2004 MINUTES OF COUNCIL A regular session of Troy City Council was held Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. Members Present: Baker, Clark, Hutchinson, Mercer and Saxton. Upon motion of Mrs. Saxton, seconded by Mrs. Baker, Mr. Douglas was excused from this meeting by unanimous roll call vote. Upon motion of Mrs. Saxton, seconded by Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. Wise was excused from this meeting by unanimous roll call vote. Presiding Officer: Ted S. Mercer, President of Council Pro Tem Others Present: Michael L. Beamish, Mayor Richard L. Cultice, City Auditor W. McGregor Dixon, Jr., Director of Law INVOCATION was given by Council Member Mercer. MINUTES: The Clerk gave a summary of the June 21, 2004 meeting of Council. There were no corrections or additions, and upon motion of Mrs. Baker, seconded by Mr. Clark, these minutes were approved by unanimous roll call vote. COMMITTEE REPORTS: NONE RESOLUTIONS: NONE ORDINANCE NO. O-30-04 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING FOR INLOTS 9253-9269 IN THE CITY OF TROY, OHIO, FROM THE COUNTY ZONING OF R-1AAA, ONE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO THE CITY ZONING OF R-2, SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT This Ordinance was given first title reading. ORDINANCE NO. O-31-04 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1000.10680 OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF TROY REGARDING R-3-B SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT This Ordinance was given first title reading. COMMENTS OF MAYOR: Mayor Beamish congratulated the volunteer Independence Day Committee for their efforts on the July 4 celebration and fireworks. He commented that two vendors, Sears and Lowe’s, have been approved for the new paint voucher program and home-owner applicants are being sought. COMMENTS OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO TEM: Mr. Mercer advised Chief Phelps that he had received a complaint from a Short Street resident of loud music from vehicles. The Chief stated that becomes an issue every year about this time. Mr. Mercer also commented that the Water Plant staff has made landscaping improvements that look very nice. Regarding the Aquatic Center, Mr. Mercer stated that residents will be receiving a copy of the latest design plan. COMMENTS BY COUNCIL: -Mr. Clark commented that he and Council members Hutchinson and Douglas recently toured the Water and Wastewater Plant. He reminded Council of the National Night Out scheduled for Aug. 3. -Mrs. Baker asked if July 30 is still the planned bid opening for the Aquatic Center and was advised that is true. -Mrs. Saxton suggested Council meet as a Committee of the Whole to review use of the former Shanesy building (just south of City Hall) now owned by the City. -Mr. Hutchinson commented that he enjoyed the Cincinnati Symphony Concert on July 2.
