PROPOSED WARD MAP FOR THE CITY OF TROY
Based on the certified census data, the City must be divided
into six wards. As provided by the Ohio Revised Code, these
wards are to be "substantially equal in number". The division
is to follow standard boundaries (streets, alleys, etc.) and
census blocks.
The proposed new ward numbers and
population of each (based on the 2010 certified census) would
be:
Ward 1 4201 Ward 2 4194 Ward 3 4151 Ward 4
4188 Ward 5 4179 Ward 6 4145
The citizens of Troy
will elect six Ward Council members in the November 2013
election, with those persons elected taking office in January
2014. The City of Troy will continue to have three Council
members elected at large.
A copy of the ward map is also
on display on the second floor of City Hall. Small copies may be
obtained from the office of the Clerk of Council, second floor
of City Hall.
Troy City Council will be considering
legislation to approve the proposed Ward Map. Questions can be
emailed to the Clerk of Council at sue.knight@troyohio.gov or
asked by phone at 937-335-1725.
