Mayor

The Mayor of the City of Troy is Michael L. Beamish. He was first elected to the position of Mayor in November of 2003, took office on January 1, 2004, and is currently serving his second term of office.

The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City.

The Mayor shall be an elector of the City and is elected by the voters at the general election every fourth year.

As one becomes acquainted with our new Mayor, they will find that Michael L. Beamish is a gentleman with strong ties to his church and his community. Mayor Beamish is a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and has been active as a Sunday School teacher, liturgist, and has served on numerous other committees. Mayor Mike also enjoys having a little fun along with his hard work, as is evident in his membership on the Lawn Chair Drill Team and past-chairmanship and current participation with the Troy Strawberry Festival.

Mayor Beamish has spent his life dedicated to children and for 31 years taught and served as principal in the Troy Schools. He is currently a supervisor with the Miami County Education Service Center. Mike is a graduate of the 1995 class of Leadership Troy and a board member with Dollars for Scholars, Brukner Nature Center, and several other organizations.

Mike Beamish is a leader, serving many years on Troy City Council before assuming the top seat as Mayor as he continues to dedicate his life to the citizens of this community.
Mayor and Mrs. Beamish are the parents of three adult children.
