Did the rate change for bulk water purchased at the
water plant?
Yes. The monthly account fee will be $17.85 per month. The
commodity charge increased to $39.78 per 1000 cubic feet (approx. 7,500
gallons).
Why are rate increases necessary?
The cost of producing water and treating sewage continues to rise. Costs
include labor and fringe benefits, power, chemicals, debt service, and
maintenance. Routine examination of costs, and routine adjustments in rates
required to fund these costs, are more acceptable than large increases every
few years. The last rate increase was in March 2004.
Who can I call with further questions?
Questions should be directed to the Public Works Department at 339-5554.
