Troy Recycling Program

The Street and Solid Waste Division office is located in the Central Service & Maintenance Facility at 1400 Experiment Farm Rd., Troy, OH 45373. The phone number is (937) 335-1914. The fax number is (937) 339-0006.
The Street and Solid Waste Division Foreman for the City of Troy is Jerry Mullins.

Street
Responsible for the year-round maintenance of the streets and alleys in the City of Troy. These duties include, but are not limited to:

All Year

  1. Streets swept with two sweepers once per month
  2. Repair or replacement of roadside berms, guard rails, etc
  3. Repair of potholes, sinkholes, and street openings
  4. Litter and roadside cleanup
  5. Special trash pickup (once/month...approx. 350 tons/year)
  6. Special projects and festivals (stages, etc.)
  7. Maintain Street Division vehicles and equipment

Seasonal

  1. Spring & Summer - asphalt, raising manholes, grading, grass cutting
  2. Autumn - leaf pickup
  3. Winter - snow and ice removal, crack seal program, tree program
 Solid Waste
The Solid Waste Division is staffed by four full time employees. This department is responsible for the following:
  1. Residential solid waste collections.
  2. Residential recycling program.
  3. Yard waste and brush collections.


The Dye Mill Road Facility is operated by Star Excavating Company and opens the first week of April and closes the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. The following hours apply during Daylight Savings Time:
Monday and Friday: noon to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday- 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Troy residents may take grass clippings, leaves, sod, concrete, dirt, rocks, brick, and brush trimmings (not to exceed 1 foot in length).
Proof of Troy residency required.

Solid Waste utilizes four high compaction trash trucks, one small dump truck, a brush chipper, and numerous hand and gas powered tools to provide these services to approximately 8,100 households on a weekly basis. We pride ourselves in providing the most efficient and cost effective services possible.
 
Holiday Collection Date Changes
Your collection day may change due to holidays recognized by the City.
The changes are always made as follows:

1. There is no change for Columbus Day, President's Day or Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
2. All holidays that fall Monday through Friday will result in a one day delay in pickup.
    This even applies to the two-day holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas...there is only
     a one day delay.
3. If the holiday falls on a weekend, there is no change in your pickup schedule.
