The Water Plant Superintendent for the City of Troy is
Mr. Tim Ray. The Water Treatment Plant is located at 300 E. Staunton Rd., Troy, OH 45373. The phone number is (937) 339-4826. The fax number is (937) 339-0838. The mission of the Troy Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is to provide an adequate supply of drinking water, complying with all Federal and State of Ohio health and aesthetic standards. After treatment, water is maintained at a sufficient pressure for residential, commercial, industrial, and fire fighting purposes. The City of Troy provides water to parts of Miami County's and Troy's 24,000 residents. The WTP is staffed 24 hr./day, 365 days/year. The City of Troy obtains it's public drinking water supplies from buried valley sand and gravel aquifers associated with the Great Miami River. The City currently utilizes ten (10) production wells to draw water from the aquifer for treatment at the water plant. These wells are located at the Miami Shores Golf Course and the Troy Municipal Park adjacent to the Great Miami River. The raw well water is pumped to the Water Treatment Plant where it is softened, clarified, disinfected, and filtered prior to being pumped to our water customers. We currently pump about 5.2 million gallons of water each day to the system with final hardness of approximately 120 mg/L. In 1999, plant treatment expansion projects were completed to allow future treatment capacity up to 16 million gallons per day. Future planned improvements include locating several new wells and studying how best to provide emergency electrical power to the plant. To arrange a Water Plant tour or obtain additional information, please contact the WTP Superintendent, Tim Ray, at (937)339-4826 between the hours of 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. More information about drinking water can be obtained by calling the Safe Drinking Water Hot Line at (800) 426-4791. Mr. Tim Ray may be e-mailed at
