Tug-of-War

The Tug-of-War is sponsored by El Sombrero Restaurant.  The Chairperson for this event is Kristi Kendall. It takes place on the floodplain between the Market and Adams St. bridges on the afternoon of Sunday, June 4 at 1:00 pm.  This event is open to anyone 16 years old or older, with a maximum of 7 people and a minimum of 4 people per team.  
There is a group weight limit of 1500 pounds.  There also needs to be at least one person of the opposite sex on each team.  A trophy will be given in each of the following divisions: Commercial, Non-Commercial, High School, and Overall Tug-of-War Champion.  Weigh in will start at 12:00 pm.  A Team Captains meeting will begin at 12:50 pm.  No spikes or cleats are allowed and gloves are optional.  The anchor person is the only person allowed to have the rope around their waist.  All decisions made by the judges are final.  Entry deadline is the May 20.
