The Troy Fire Department Bicycle Helmet Program is designed to provide school-age children with bicycle helmets for those who do not have one available for riding. Safety while riding bicycles is the main objective in providing this free program.
Helmets are given away the second Saturday of every month starting in late Spring and ending in early Fall. From 10am-12pm, helmets are fitted by size to anyone in need of a helmet. These events are held at Fire Station 2. Special invitation helmet cards are given to individuals throughout the year at training and education events, special events or when a child is seen riding without a helmet and is in need.
This program is specifically designed for safety in protection while riding bicycles. We have been providing this service for over 15 years and continue to do so for our community each year thanks to donations and supporters of this program.
