Double Jay crews are continuing to remove sidewalks and driveways on the south side of W. Main. Curb ramps are being put in as they are and graded for stone, walks are constructed following the ramps. The areas remaining are located between Elm to Cherry and the northwest corner of Cherry Street. Concrete driveways are approximately 90% complete.
Next week, asphalt areas behind completed driveways will be prepped for asphalt to be laid, first between Elm and Cherry, and later between Cherry and Plum.
Perram Electric continues to work on building the lighting and traffic signal systems as they become available, including materials for pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. They also started pulling wire throughout the project in preparation for the next phase of building the lighting and traffic systems.
The new traffic signals will provide newer tech and more sophisticated timing than previous models. They will be coordinated and timed to move traffic more efficiently and safely through the area and employ radar technology to detect and prevent backups and unnecessary wait times.
Topsoil will also be placed soon and seeded to beat the heat of summer. Residents have done a great job mowing and maintaining the new grass!
