We're in the home stretch and getting ready to say goodbye to the orange cones!
The week of the 18th is going to see 90% of the work going on between Cedar and Monroe Streets. The island was been constructed this past week.
Electric crews will be in on Monday to begin work on the installation of light pole foundations on the island. The light poles to be erected will have dual arms to illuminate both directions of the street and are set to arrive soon. Hydroseeding will begin on Monday.
The paving contractor will be moving in on Monday to begin milling the existing asphalt between Cedar and Monroe Sts to achieve the optimal profile of the roadway for drainage and rideability. Intermediate asphalt will be placed after milling is completed. Motorists should use caution, and if possible, take alternate routes, as traffic is sure to be affected. Lanes will be restricted to one lane in each direction and access could be limited in some areas.
Once intermediate asphalt has been placed, temporary striping will be applied to the new pavement. Concrete crews will continue to work on the remaining streetscape items closer to downtown. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience.
