Does the City of Troy buy back graves?: Starting April 1, 2019, the City of Troy will refund only the person or persons who originally purchased burial rights, are listed on the Warranty Deed issued by the City of Troy, and wish to convey those rights back to the City of Troy. Original purchasers wanting to return burial rights to the city should contact the cemetery office at (937) 335-2710 for an initial meeting.

1. Can I finance the purchase of space?: Unfortunately, there are no finance options through the City of Troy. Space purchases must be in full and by check or cash.

2. 3. When do graves get seeded with grass?: Cemetery staff usually sod graves in early spring or fall when rain is more frequent and daytime temperatures are cooler.

4. When are monument foundations poured?: Cemetery staff pour foundations from March thru Nov. depending on weather. Orders are poured on a first come first serve basis. Funerals and mowing operations take priority.

5. Can a bench be placed at a grave?: Placing benches at graves is no longer advised due to the large number of benches already in the cemetery; each bench hinders mowing and trimming operations. However, if one wishes to place a bench, a foundation supplied by the cemetery is required. Please contact the cemetery office for further details.

6. What happened to my decorations?: The City of Troy has adopted specific rules and regulations concerning decorations in both Riverside and Rosehill Cemeteries. Any decorations which do not conform to those rules and regulations, or are damaged from exposure or improper placement, are subject to removal. Rules and Regulations may be downloaded from the Cemetery page or the Homepage (Use of flowers and decorations); or at the cemetery office. Wind and theft are other reasons decorations may become missing. All decorations are placed at the risk of the purchaser.

7. Can I plant flowers and/or shrubs at graves?: The City of Troy has adopted specific rules and regulations concerning decorations in both Riverside and Rosehill Cemeteries.
