How to Contact an Officer:

Emergency – Dial 911

Call 911 if:

  • Someone is injured or needs immediate medical assistance.
  • A crime is currently occurring.
  • Someone is in immediate danger.
  • An immediate police response is needed.

Non-Emergency Dispatch – Call (937) 440-9911

Call our non-emergency dispatch number at (937) 440-9911:

  • To make a police report when the crime or incident has already occurred and there is no immediate danger.
  • To speak with an on-duty police officer.
  • For other situations that require police assistance but are not emergencies.

Administrative Line – Call (937) 339-7525

Call our administrative line at (937) 339-7525 during normal business hours:

  • To speak with a specific officer or leave a voicemail.
  • To obtain a copy of a police report.
  • For general information or administrative inquiries.

In Person – Police Station

Police reports may be made in person at the Troy Police Department, 124 E. Main St., Troy, Ohio.

During normal business hours, residents may enter the police station to speak with department personnel. After normal business hours, the lobby is closed. To request police assistance or make a report, use the telephone located in the station vestibule to contact an officer.

Text-to-911

Text 911 when you are unable to safely make a voice call to 911. Text-to-911 should be used for emergencies only.

If you have information you would like to share with the Troy Police Department that does not require an immediate response, you may submit a tip through our online tip submission system.

Other Ways to Contact the Department

In general, making a report in person is preferred because it allows an officer to obtain complete information and address questions or concerns at the time of the report.

When making a report in person is impractical, an officer may be able to take the initial report by telephone, mail, or email. For general inquiries to the Department's Administration, please email PDgeneralstaffmail@troyohio.gov.

At this time, the Troy Police Department does not have an online form for submitting police reports.
