Community Improvement Corporation (CIC)

Troy’s Community Improvement Corporation is defined under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1724 and organized under ORC Chapter 1702 as a non-profit economic development corporation, organized for the purpose of advancing, encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of the community. The CIC may borrow and loan money for the purposes of development and re-development within the Troy community. A CIC can also make special loans to persons, firms, partnerships, or corporations, and can serve as an agent for making grant applications.

Governing Law: Troy’s Community Improvement Corporation is defined under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1724 and organized under ORC Chapter 1702.

Appointment:

The CIC Board of Directors has thirteen members, including the Mayor, President of City Council, the Safety and Service Director, the Auditor, and other voting members. Trustees serve one-year terms.

• Not less than 2/5 of Board of Trustees shall be composed of appointed or elected officials of Troy
• The CIC will consist of thirteen trustees with the four officers chosen from the trustees
• One officer of Troy shall be a member of the Board of Trustees
• Trustees from the City of Troy shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of City Council

Residency: Set by CIC bylaws.

Meeting Schedule: The CIC Board of Directors holds an annual meeting, and also meets on an as-needed basis.
