At its December 7 meeting, the Troy City Council approved the City’s 2021 All Funds Budgets.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the City’s tax revenue will not be known until May 2021. In order to steward that funding in a responsible way, the 2021 budget prioritizes safety services, infrastructure investments, and other basics.
Some highlights of the budget include:
- A General Fund of $21,530,116 to cover projected expenses across all City departments, projects and initiatives.
- The reinstatement of a position within the Engineering Department.
- A minimum of major vehicle replacements, to include $190,000 to replace a 2007 Fire Department medic unit, $158,000 to replace a five-ton truck for the Street Division, and $55,000 to purchase a refuse truck replacement.
- A total of $220,000 budgeted for Police body and in-vehicle cameras.
- Investment in transportation, including the continuation of road and sidewalk repaving, the third and fourth phases of the Riverside Drive reconstruction project and design related to the West Main Street Corridor Project.
- Continued quarterly payments to the Troy Development Council, Troy Main Street, and the Troy Rec.
