[ARCHIVED] Student Art Contest - Grades 7-12

The City of Troy is seeking student art submissions for decorative winter and holiday banners to be placed along Adams Street. These banners will be displayed during the months of November, December, and January.  

Eligible students must be Troy residents and/or be enrolled in the Miami East Local School District, Troy City School District, Troy Christian Schools, St. Patrick Catholic School, or in a home school program in Troy. Students must be in grades 7-12. 

Artwork Requirements:

  • Depict a winter or holiday theme; 
  • Must be original digital or hand-drawn art; 
  • Must be “edge to edge,” filling the entire page;
  • If drawing the artwork by hand, the copy size must be 11.5” wide and 24.5” tall, and one-sided flat (i.e. no items attached on such as rhinestones, sequins, beads, etc.). 
  • The artwork must be on paper, as we are unable to scan cardboard or canvas prints. 
  • Digital artwork must be submitted in PDF format to scale (23”x49”) with fonts outlined. Resolution should be at least 300 DPI. 
  • Please include your name, grade, and school on the submission–we want to recognize our artists!

Submissions are due by Monday, October 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Students whose artwork is selected will be notified by mid-October.  Please call 937-335-1725 with any questions.

  • Submissions can be dropped off or mailed to:
    Troy City Hall, Service Director’s Office
    100 S. Market Street, Troy, Ohio 45373 
  • Digital submissions may be emailed to lauren.karch@troyohio.gov
  • Art can also be submitted to the following teachers:
    • Troy City Schools: Ms. Cantrell or Mrs. Segretto (Junior High), Mrs. Hartman (High School)
    • Miami East Local Schools: Mrs. Poeppelman
    • St. Patrick Catholic School: Mrs. Maisto
    • Troy Christian Junior High and High School: Mrs. Reno
