Mayor Michael Beamish has issued a proclamation recognizing Small Business Saturday, which will take place on November 30, 2019. Mayor Beamish met with Troy Main Street Executive Director Andrea Keller, Executive Director of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce Kathi Roetter, and members of the downtown business community on Monday to share the proclamation.
Small Business Saturday is a national campaign to cultivate business for small merchants on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The campaign is in its tenth year. Several local businesses will offer special sales and events on November 30.
"Small businesses form the backbone of our local economy, generating jobs and improving the quality of life for citizens...the City of Troy, Ohio supports the efforts of local small businesses and recognizes the critical role they play in our community," the proclamation reads. Mayor Beamish added, “the City encourage citizens to consider shopping small merchants on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year as a way to boost the local economy.”
